Product tabs Free

Product tabs let you put extra content on a product page — delivery information, specifications, a care guide, a video — without editing a template.

The free edition is the complete feature: unlimited tabs, full block content, and management of WooCommerce’s own tabs.

Creating a tab

Praetor → Product tabs → Add new. The title becomes the tab label; the body is the ordinary block editor, so anything you can put in a page you can put in a tab: text, images, galleries, embedded video, maps, shortcodes.

Choosing where it appears

The Where this tab appears panel takes lists of product, category or tag IDs. Leave all three empty and the tab appears on every product — which is the useful default for something like a delivery policy.

Ordering and icons

Each tab has an order number; lower numbers appear first. You can give a tab a single character or emoji as an icon.

WooCommerce’s own tabs

Praetor can rename, reorder or hide WooCommerce’s Description, Reviews and Additional information tabs, and set which tab opens first — but there is no screen for it yet. The settings exist and the storefront honours them; what is missing is somewhere to type them, so today they can only be set through the REST API or brought in with a configuration import.

A screen for this is on the list. Until it lands, the honest summary is: reusable and product-specific tabs are complete and have their own editor; the handling of WooCommerce’s own tabs is not reachable from wp-admin.

Content is in the page source

Tab content is rendered into the initial HTML, even for panels that are visually collapsed. That is how WooCommerce’s own tabs work, and it is what keeps the content reachable by a screen reader and visible to a search engine. A tab that fetched its content when clicked would be invisible to both.

An empty tab does not render

A published tab with no content is skipped rather than rendered as an empty panel, and a health check tells you which tabs are in that state.
